Council Room, Odell, Illinois, Monday February 08, 2021, a Regular Board Meeting was held this date at 7:00pm, at Village Hall, Council Room, 213 S. Front Street, with Mayor Brian Mills presiding and with proper notice having been posted.

Roll Call

Roll call showed the following Trustee members were physically present: Brian Verdun, Lisa Lambert, Jamie McPeek, Mark Tissiere, Rodney Morris, and Tom Russell

Amended Minutes of the December 14, 2020 Regular Board Meetings

Minutes of the January 11, 2021 Regular Board Meetings

Trustee Brian Verdun moved to accept the Amended minutes of the December 14, 2020 Regular Board Meeting and the Minutes of the January 11, 2021 Regular Board Meeting; second by Trustee Rodney Morris;

Approved by roll call vote:

Treasurer’s Report

Board packets contained the Treasurer’s Report and the Year-to-date Fund Summary for the month ending January 31, 2021.  Treasurer Jim Rebholz reported bank ending balances for the month ending January 31, 2021 as follows:

Police Report

Sgt. Rork from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that there was no Police Activity in Odell for the month of January

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Water/Sewer Rate Discussion/Increase

The Water/Sewer Committee stated that with the addition of the new generators for the sewer lift stations and increasing maintenance costs for the sewer, the sewer fund is severely in the red.  Their recommendation is to raise the sewer rates $1.25 per 1,000 gallons with a minimum of 2600 gallons.  Their additional recommendation is to review water, sewer and the farmers meter annually and to have rate recommendations in January.

Attorney Ehrgott will prepare a new resolution for the March meeting.

Litigation – 200 E Hamilton

Litigation regarding 200 E. Hamilton has been moved to Executive Session.

Miscellaneous Old Business

Mayor Mills announced that we have received a second check from the Cares/Cures Fund and hope to receive an additional $8,000+ that has been submitted.  He also stated that we have received the contract for the demolition of the downtown buildings and Attorney Ehrgott is reviewing the contract.

Mayor Mills discussed the 3 bids he has received for new tires for the case tractor.

Trustee Brian Verdun moved to exit Regular Session and enter into Executive Session at 7:41pm for the purpose of discussing current litigation of 200 E. Hamilton; second by Trustee Mark Tissiere;

Trustee Jamie McPeek moved to exit Executive Session and enter into Regular Session at 7:54pm; second by Trustee Brian Verdun;
